Project Monster Part 2 - a bit more fuel and tad more air...

So, onto part 2 of Project Monster, which involves...

  • ITG Maxogen Induction kit
  • Autotech Fuel Pump
  • Tweak to Revo stage 1 map

We estimated around the 315bhp mark. The fuel pump alllowing us to see the effects of richening the mixture when tweaking timing, with the ITG Maxogen kit allowing a much better air flow.

The tiny high pressure fuel pump took around 30 minutes to fit, all very straight forward. The ITG kits also very easy to fit, we allowed and hour and a half to complete.

So, both installed we ran VCDS for errors and all good. So onto our Dyno for tweaking the map.

Richening up slightly allowed for more timing, and adjustments to boost. The car made 322Bhp AFW and almost 290 lb/ft2 torque (previously 288bhp afw with just Revo stage 1). VCDS logging showed no issues.

An excellent result from the ITG and the HPFP:- the car now pulling far harder in all gears throughout the rev range, combined with a rich orchestra of sounds from the Maxogen filter. Next step adding the Blueflame turbo back exhaust with sports cat and Revo Stage 2 Plus - estimate 360Bhp AFW

Costs so far (over and above car)

  • Revo Stage 1 software £586.32
  • ITG Maxogen filter £375.00
  • Autotech High pressure fuel pump £325
  • Total cost £1286.32 plus fitting
  • All these items are available from us, including fitting at http://www.monstermotorsport.com/

  1. Looking good.

I think I might have to give in to the HPFP soon. Not sure if I am seeing the occasional drop in power when acceleration hard. Maybe due to fuelling or the car lifting and the traction control cutting power. Need to do a few more tests :)

322 is looking good. Once you have the BF on i'll expect someone to take me for a ride in it.

In your opinion has the HPFP made a big difference to the performance at stage 1?

Keep up the good work and see you soon
